Carillon Beach: Our Little Beach Café

Nestled in the corner of downtown Carillon Beach’s Market Street businesses, you will find the home of what some say is the best burger in the Panhandle.  Our Little Beach Café sits adjacent to Carillon Beach’s Village Green and Lake Carillon and is indeed one small business filled with great food loaded with big flavors.

A Family Business

The Spicer family has owned and operated Our Little Beach Café since their debut in December of 2015, and they are no stranger to the restaurant business.  In a prior life, Jason and Melissa Spicer operated a much larger restaurant in North Georgia.  When they vacationed in Carillon Beach, they would often talk about how they might orchestrate a family transition to live here.  The talk turned into action and they found the perfect business opportunity right here in Carillon Beach.

The Spicer secret?  They keep it simple, not flashy, and not extravagant.  They focus on flavorful food and outstanding customer service.  Their goal?  Melissa says it best, “We like to make people smile, and we love it when our customers tell us the food was great!”.  When asked about their best employees, Jason and Melissa laughed and responded in unison, “all of them”!  Why, you ask?  Our Little Beach Café is a family owned and operated business and their growing children are an instrumental part of it.  Daughters Brooke and Brandi are part of the hustle and bustle of the little café and son Austin will pitch in during the busy season.  Melissa says “We do this because we can do this as a family.  We love what we do, and we enjoy being with our kids.”

Their Services

Our Little Beach Café offers a full menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, 7 days a week, 7am – 9pm from Memorial Day to the end of July.  They operate reduced hours in the off season which is growing shorter every year.  Their most popular items include burgers and of course the famous “Patty Melt”… acclaimed by many who eat there as “The Best we’ve had anywhere”.  Another little-known secret is that they DELIVER in the Carillon Beach community (pools, homes, businesses, and walkovers) … they see their job as making your food choices on vacation as convenient as possible!

A Surprise

I should probably mention that there is a SURPRISE coming this summer.  Unfortunately for you, I’ve been sworn to secrecy so I guess you will just need to come by and check it out for yourself.  Rumor has it that this new “Surprise” will be here beginning Memorial Day.  It just so happens that our first Groovin’ On the Green concert is ALSO on Memorial Day.  Coincidence?  I don’t think so!

What’s next for the Spicer’s?  Well, Jason has his eye on Best of the Bay.  Do you think he might have a chance?  Try Our Little Beach Café and let us know!  As for me, I vote YES!
